"John, the woman on the float with you was Betty Bird, Don Bird's sister.  If I recall correctly she and Roger Olsen eventually married.

My God, that was 50 years ago.  I remember working on that damned float for ever.  I was also the chairman of the parade, and, if I remember correctly, because of all that work, and a few pinochle games here and there, I was put on academic probation after that semester.  It was sure fun.
